le besoin de ces enfants de maintenir, en l’état, l’espace tel qu’ils l’avaient perçu la première fois, conduite qu’il a décrite sous le nom de sameness, que l’on peut traduire en français par « immutabilité » : un enfant autiste qui perçoit un environnement dans un certain état exigera que cet envi-ronnement reste immuable dans ses moindres détails. Le moindre changement, souvent difficile à percevoir pour son entourage, entraînera, chez lui, des manifestations de rage et d’angoisse mêlées, en des crises d’une extraordinaire violence. Tout semble se passer pour lui comme si l’espace devait à jamais se figer comme le château de La Belle au bois dormant. Les changements, qui vien-nent donner vie à cet espace, ne sont pas ressentis, par lui, comme le baiser du Prince charmant réveillant la Belle endormie, mais comme un séisme, une catastrophe intolérable
